21% of the ocean is getting darker?!and 9% of it, a region the size of the ENTIRE content of Africa, has lost 50/200 meters of its life-bearing photic zone where 90% of marine life lives? :0 because of algal blooms? Well, one could argue that there could initially be more predation = more marine snow, but itβd obviously affect the food web, so perhaps less in the long run, which could hurt deep ocean species that need the marine snow
