good morning, to all based builders. I have some bittersweet news to share today – I’m stepping away from my role as head of product for @base.base.eth. it’s been an incredible run – fun, challenging, rewarding. I extend sincere gratitude to Jesse, Brian, and Coinbase for the opportunity to lead product for base and contribute to the mission of increasing economic freedom in the world. we landed serious impact, becoming a top-3 chain and launching industry-leading builder tools 0 to 1. we grew from less than a billion dollars onchain to $16B and counting. 10x faster, 100x cheaper, with thousands of teams building apps, contributing everyday to solve real problems for real people.

we have successfully rescued 130+ ETH that was mistakenly sent to our Ethereum Mainnet bridge address on Base, Optimism, and Arbitrum. we recovered the ETH and returned it to the accounts that sent it originally. I'm sharing links below to the block explorer for each chain, so you can check if you received ETH. remember to only send ETH to our bridge address on Ethereum Mainnet (0x49048044D57e1C92A77f79988d21Fa8fAF74E97e), and an easier option is to bridge funds using community bridge UIs like @superbridge and Brid_gg. to prevent future cases of ETH getting stuck at this address on unsupported chains, the contracts we deployed now prevent users from sending ETH by reverting the tx proactively.
