When I was younger, I hated reading because I couldn't go more than 5 minutes without switching to autopilot and forgetting 90% of what I've read. Because of that, I gravitated more towards talks, debates, and video essays.
Judging what level of discussion I can have based on books I've read seems too much of a leap.
