📍ISTANBUL 7-Galata Tower, one of the oldest towers in the world, was built in the 500s at the request of Byzantine Emperor Justinian. It gained its current appearance in the 1340s. The last repair of the tower, which was destroyed by fire and earthquakes, was made in 1967.
