Things most of Base don’t know 🧵 1️⃣ Base doesn’t have an official token yet. Anything calling itself “$BASE” isn’t from Coinbase. 2️⃣ The sequencer is still centralized under Coinbase’s control (for now). 3️⃣ Gas fees are paid in ETH, not a native Base token. 4️⃣ Base runs on the OP Stack, meaning it’s part of the growing Optimism Superchain. 5️⃣ Coinbase plans to decentralize Base over time that’s when governance and real network power kick in.
