Bauta is a Venetian mask, a traditionally white satin mask with a sharp triangular profile and deep hollows for the eyes.Bauta appeared in Venice at the turn of the XVII–XVIII centuries. She served as an effective cover for representatives of any class and gender and was considered an ideal mask for high-ranking people who liked to anonymously go "to the people" 🎭
