A fork is like the ultimate call to a decision. If everyone goes one way or the other, that reveals that what was gained through the fork could have been determined through a governance structure like voting. The true value of a fork is when two sufficiently independent populations actually want different things.
On this issue, I'd argue that the Farcaster population is largely aligned and what that indicates is not a community disagreement but an architectural issue where the governance mechanisms haven't caught up to the consensus that already exists.
Therefore, we shouldn't fear the fork, but embrace nature's balancing toward the thing we believe in
