Have any slash events coincided with contentious governance votes?
In the young AVS ecosystem, a publicly documented case of a slash event directly caused by a contentious governance vote is not yet prevalent. However, this dynamic has been observed in other decentralized systems where protocol upgrades have led to chain splits and validator confusion. The risk is not theoretical. A contentious vote that passes with a narrow margin, especially one that upgrades core client software, creates a perfect storm for a slash event: a divided community, potential client bugs in the new version, and operators who may be running conflicting software, all of which can lead to equivocation or other slashing conditions.
