I hear you. generally speaking it is much better to have more transparency and choice than not. 

Something about it just feels weird.

But I do agree that ppl buy flexes all the time so it tracks w the rest of society.

Every tx is onchain so it is pretty much more transparent than, say, twitter
Where big accounts are bought and sold all the time for sometimes nefarious purposes

I like the idea of monetizing earliness but not the loss of the account history and followers. 

Feels like it defeats the purpose of the flex if you can buy it. 

Maybe I'm just being grumpy
