Aalto University found a way to run AI calculations with a single flash of light.
They encode data directly into light waves.
This lets computations happen naturally and all at once.
The method is passive, needing no electronics.
It could soon be built into photonic chips.
This promises much faster and far more energy-efficient AI systems.
