A-share refers to the common stock registered and listed in Chinese Mainland, which is marked with the par value and traded in RMB. This type of stock is mainly aimed at institutional and individual investors in mainland China, excluding investors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. In the early days of the stock market, the term A-share was a mandatory code used to distinguish RMB common stocks.
