Got a lot done yesterday on this nft marketplace mini app! Collection pages are nearly complete. The search bar has a real nice autocomplete. Today I will start on the individual nft page, And then get started on listings and offers!

The hardest part with nft apps is smart fetching/ caching of metadata. For this, I am first checking the alchemy API which very frequently does not return any metadata on individual nfts. If it doesn't, it will try a few on-chain calls (uri, tokenURI, etc) And then stores that data in redis for quick retrieval. a refresh metadata button can only be triggered once every half hour, click-time tracked server side

totally agree. having the same issues with my app @podplayr ..we’re attempting to retrieve “media” NFTs (music videos, short films, etc) and it’s not easy trying to retrieve all of that info and play within a mini-app 😭
