My daughter turns one year old today, I'm also celebrating one year of motherhood. Remembering how painful childbirth is, the bleeding afterwards, the lack of sleep, the postpartum mania and depression, the body dysphoria, constantly wondering whether I'm mothering right, losing my spark, and so on.
I wish society was honest about how brutal motherhood is instead of romanticism, I feel so proud of myself today. I have bounced back and I'm slowly regaining my spark back. Let me celebrate my one year of motherhood it has not been easy.
