I just got access to Shopify's Sidekick today (their AI tool). I know I usually roast my bf @matallo.eth in public but this really is a phenomenal tool. I don't really need to make custom reports or write any queries for it to bring up the relevant information. Today I am adding an email pop-up submission, and it was able to pull my scroll time, my bounce rate, and my average session time in just seconds. Then it provides recommendations. Matallo indexed billions of CX messages, sorted through tons of shit, and worked many late hours to make this amazing tool accessible to me.

I built https://scoutreader.app/ using Cursor and Claude 3.7. I didn’t write a single line of code myself. Lots of prompting, reverting, reprompting and pasting of error messages. Biggest thing was making sure my mental model of the app constantly stayed aligned with the LLM’s mental model of the app. Asking it why it built in a certain way, how the logic works, etc.

Yeah totally. Gmail did a lot right for users, and I think that tradeoff made sense for a while. But the golden age was when stuff like Sparrow could exist; great UX and real choice.
