I’m not a very smart investor like Bill Ackman or David Tepper. Most of my portfolio is in ETFs like VTI, but when I see companies like Microsoft and Google acquiring energy from Nuclear power plants and entering into multi-decade contracts to lease data centers, it’s a bullish sign for overall AI demand.

Much has been written about Google’s recent M&A leak (HubSpot and Wiz) so I wanted to share why this isn’t unique. Leak with HubSpot is not unusual for tech horizontal acquisitions such as the rumored Salesforce / Twitter or PayPal / Pinterest deals. It’s a way for the company (and its bankers) to test investor reception. Re: Wiz leak, would not be surprised if VC investors leaked it. It’s a huge return in a short period of time (only 4y since founding). Not clear that the leak came from Google.
