since there seems to be a large group of watch collectors here, i wanted to show my daily watch (Tudor 1926) & the backstory of how i got it i got into luxury watches when i was 15. started reading about Rolexes, different types of mechanical watches, etc. found an incredible boutique that my mom would take me to. one of the sales reps was really kind and would let me try on all of the nicest Rolexes they had (gold day dates with diamond bezels, Daytonas, etc.) when it came time for my high school graduation, i had saved up and wanted to buy a nice mechanical watch (not a Rolex, but something special) we found out that the store was closing down, so went in for one last visit. i told her what i was looking for and my budget. the saleswoman pulled out a 1926 Tudor, which was 20% off due to the store closing i bought it and wore it out. i wear it almost every day. now, i still keep in contact with her and she will be hopefully helping me get my dream GMT Master II soon we love our watches, but it is the backstory and memories that make this watch so meaningful to me

When people ask ā€œwhy do other people buy nice mechanical watchesā€ - it’s more for the story like this than people assume (that it’s to flex) Nice bracelet and love the face

Its always the stories and memories that watches carry with them that gives them their value. Both to us wearing them and to others. I switch between a Santos and TAG Aquaracer depending on work/travel. Aquaracer was my first big purchase and was a sale buy on a whim. Santos stems for my love for all things aviation.

Lovely story. Lovely watch. I’ve not been into luxury watches long, and only started celebrating milestones with nice watches recently. My first nice watch was the Seiko SPB143 to celebrate my business surviving COVID. Then celebrated selling that business with the Grand Seiko SBGW289. The Rolex GMT I shared with you earlier is the one I’d like to add to the collection to celebrate the birth of my daughter. Looking for a 2018 serial # to match.

Lore matters! To me it’s what makes each watch unique to the owner - where why how, all these factors contribute to make the piece yours. Great watch!

What good is a watch if you don’t know what time it is?
