Why do Rastas love weed? Time to drop the stereotypes. Many think Rastas smoke just to get high, but in Rastafari, ganja is a sacred herb a gift from Jah. It’s used for meditation and “reasoning,” helping the mind rise above confusion and focus on spiritual truth. The herb is seen as natural medicine, something holy that comes from the earth and should never be demonized. There’s also a deeper history. Rastafari grew in Jamaica during oppression, and smoking ganja became a symbol of resistance a way to reject colonial laws and embrace African identity. So when a Rasta lights up, it’s not about a party vibe. It’s prayer, culture, healing, and liberation.
