About 10 years ago, I heard the quote, “do you want to be liked, or do you want to win?” I thought to myself that didn’t have to be true. For years I’ve struggled with that quote lingering, while being “Iowa Nice” in many business dealings. The Iowa Nice opportunity cost has now become too big. I choose winning.
