To siphon a discus aquarium, start by turning off all equipment such as filters and heaters. Use a gravel vacuum to gently remove debris from the bottom without disturbing the fish. Take out about 30–50% of the water, depending on your maintenance routine. Refill the tank with clean, dechlorinated water that matches the temperature of the aquarium.
