- C is now deprecated. Use S or K.
- Q is now deprecated. Use Ku or Kw.
- X is now deprecated. Use Ks or Z.
- Ph is now deprecated. Use F.
- G is now strictly for hard sounds. J must be used for soft sounds (Jirafe, Jentle, Jym).
- Z must now be used for all vibrating sibilants (Uze, Rezult, Vizit).
- Silent W is now deprecated. No replacement needed (Rite, Rist).
- Silent K is now deprecated. No replacement needed (Nee, Nife, Nock).
- The letters "ough" have been identified as a major system bottleneck and are now deprecated. Use the appropriate replacement instead (Thru, Tho, Enuf, Kof).
- Irregular plurals have been refactored for consistency (Gooses, Mouses, Indekses).
- All "Strong Verbs" (irregular past tense) have been refactored to the -ed standard (Runned, Eated, Thinked, Sleeped).
- Improved the reliability of the "I before E" rule by deleting the 900 exceptions that made the rule useless.
- Capitalization is now optional.
- "Biweekly" is now forbidden. Use "twice a week" or "every two weeks".
