I don’t think non-verbal episodes happen the same for everyone. It’s always a symptom of an autistic shutdown for me, yeah? And I genuinely lose all my language. I cannot speak or understand most language, and in that state, I want the smallest humanly possible degrees of engagement. Ideally, I need none. Getting asked questions just heightens my distress because I don’t have the language to communicate, or sometimes interpret anything well. 

It’s the quietest I will ever be as a real talkative. I’ve been falling back into shutdowns for almost 10 months now. It’s quite hellish and I want out please.
