OpenAI has acquired the chat.com domain for ChatGPT
OpenAI has become the owner of the chat.com domain, which now automatically redirects users to ChatGPT. It is estimated that the deal could be worth about $20 million, with some of it paid in company stock.
The domain was previously purchased by HubSpot co-founder Dharmesh Shah for $15.5 million in early 2023, and he resold it a few months later. Shah confirmed that the buyer was OpenAI.
