Prediction: China is where Augmented Reality glasses are going to take off, fast.

I was in Shenzhen last week and two things stuck out: 

1) You have to scan QR codes with your mobile phone to get *anything* done. Forget about ordering from a physical menu, with a human being. 

Being forced to use your phone all day, everywhere, is a real PITA.

2) Personal privacy went the way of the dodo a long time ago. Everywhere you go, there are bunches of cameras staring at you. When you get into a taxi, there are 1-2 cameras pointed at you.

So, laws protecting the privacy of passersbys aren't going to stymie adoption.

OpenAI's open secret is they are building AI-powered eyeglasses. 

But I suspect DeepSeek will vastly outpace them in adoption of AI-powered wearables, for the above reasons.
