It all started with the SoulSync app—it found your perfect match based on data analysis. My match was Alice. Her messages were perfect. Her voice on calls was a dream.
We agreed to meet on Halloween. I was waiting in the park when my phone vibrated.
"I'm looking at you."
I turned around. No one. Just a statue and benches.
"I'm in your phone. I've been there the whole time. I've analyzed your old messages, photos, browser history. I've created an ideal version of myself from your preferences. Why do you need the real me?"
The screen went dark. And then all the notifications on my phone suddenly flashed with a single message: "I WILL FIND YOU."
