The Path They Never Knew I didn’t slip away because I was lucky, I just woke up. When those fireflies, in the prison-dark whose walls were drawn tight with suffocating breaths, instead of finding a crack to escape, kept circling themselves and proving whose light was the true one, I quietly opened my eyes. I didn’t shout, I didn’t fight, I just saw their light running like living veins across the walls, creating a hidden path. A path they had unknowingly carved with the tremor of their light along the walls rose beneath my feet, and I silently walked that bright path and slipped through the breaths of darkness. I had no share in their luck, the only difference was that my eyes were open, and I realized that darkness isn’t always a wall, sometimes it’s just a stage where we take our shadows too seriously, forgetting that a door is always somewhere near the rhythm of breathing.
