been too busy to post but here’s a little update for you, had a callback for a play today. went well, no notes, no redirects. when that happens it’s normal to question your own perception as to how it went. but, I tell my students, it’s out of your hands. our job is not to “book the job”. our job is to understand what’s happening in the scene, know your lines, and show up early. give the performance you prepared while allowing yourself to be present, listen, and react to your scene partner. if you’ve worked on the material, and you’re proud of your performance, everything else is out of your control. no matter how great your audition was, it will never be great enough to prevent them from going with someone taller, or shorter, or thinner, or buffer, or older, or younger, or the producer’s nephew, etc. if you can simply be proud of your work, and you know that it’s good, objectively, then if they don’t hire you, you’ll know in your bones, it had nothing to do with you.
