If many people don't understand 2nd order consequences, how much less likely is it for the average person to understand the 3rd, 4th, or 5th order consequences of /privacy violations?

A pet peeve of mine is when someone adept at a skill gets upset when they're told they are "talented." "I-It's not talent! I-It's hard work!" Please, shut up and take the compliment. You can be talented and hard working. Calm down.

What attracted me to Farcaster? I first heard about it from @colin on @sinahab's show. Paragraph was what originally interested me, as their answers to the problems I had with substack were compelling. I then listened to @v talk about Farcaster on the same show (I don't remember much from that talk, it probably went over my head lol). I kept digging. The previous summer I had messed with Mastodon & Fediverse hosting. I thought it was a novel solution, but the result was so many chaotic splinters & fractures it didn't seem like a viable long-term solution. That, and the hosting and maintenance felt very web 2.0. "Sufficiently decentralized" was a concept I could wrap my head around. It was the greatest selling point for me as a non-crypto person, and it was a use for blockchain tech outside of just money-chasing. Plus it reminded me a lot of what I'm trying to do in the creative space: Create open Intellectual Property to share with others. Trustworthy, robust, and financed distribution is needed for this!

Went dark over here for a bit, wasted a lot of time on X but also got really back in to studying Japanese. I'd like to make some threads from my first trip before I go on my next one next year! Still writing my book, made good progress on that too.

Man I FINALLY made some breakthrough progress on the 2nd half of chapter 26. I haven't had week-long block like this in a while. It took me reorganizing all of my messy notes and lots of false-starts. But we got there.
