Why does every vibe coder use @supabase and not Firebase?

Never used the former so genuinely just curious.

I think hands on with the agent is the best way to get a handle on this. I personally find digital ocean to be pretty damn easy, the only thing that tripped me up for a few minutes was that DO uses the aws sdk for object storage, otherwise it’s easy. 

Droplets are like $15 a month, the agent knows everything you need to setup a node server using nginx and can help you ssh in and then you can use the dashboard to sanity check things

Why use either? You should be running in a $15 box and skipping all of this unnecessary tech debt using managed services for 20x the price and requiring garbage code

Firebase is great - especially since you're already in GCP ecosystem, Supabase is more top-of-mind for newer devs.

It's a pretty good product. Personally, I would recommend MongoDB since I'm not sure the vibecoders want to deal with database migrations if their apps do kick off. I'm using it for my app personally and am OK with it.
