all mine were in a CD case that got stolen about 16 years ago. at the time streaming was just getting going but i told myself it wasn't worth it to replenish my DVD collection because in a few years it would all be available online

i just got an update from my accountant. the BOI rule will now only apply to foreign entities, which is much more reasonable and clearly filling an enforcement gap. they can still figure out owners of US entities by requesting info from states where the entities are formed. they might need a court order to do so but that just means you have to have reasonable cause to request the info.

If the President can call anyone he wants a terrorist and have that person whisked away to be renditioned in an El Salvadoran prison without due process, how long will it be before this is happening to political opponents? I’m not saying Trump would do that (although I wouldn’t put it past him) - but i do believe it’s a very slippery slope that will end up with innocent Americans in foreign prisons. MAGA folks like to say “It’s only happening to illegal immigrants!”. Ok, if that’s the case, why don’t they just prove it? Allowing the Trump admin to keep it a secret just further makes this easier to be weaponized against political opponents or anyone else in America. It’s an absolutely frightening precedent to set.
