I’ve been trying to follow the situation in Iran because rapid rise and fall very interesting (and also alarming).
From what I understand:
- Police are typically the first responders to protests. They are not as ideologically driven and not very well equipped (and perhaps motivated) to get involved.
- Basiji are normally second responders. Very ideologically driven, trained to handle with these things harshly.
- Sepah harshest enforcers. Used when Basiji are overwhelmed. Also very ideologically driven.
Am I right?
