Crypto has entered its late-stage startup phase. Every chain is fighting for market share, VCs are consolidating power, and liquidity is becoming institutional. The original cypherpunk dream feels distant. But maybe that’s okay. Maybe mass adoption always leads to some degree of centralization. The real question is not “How do we keep crypto pure?” but “How do we preserve decentralization where it actually matters?” Self-custody, censorship resistance, open access, and programmable value—if we keep those, maybe the mission survives.
