I absolutely agree it will roughly play out like that. Just think the details are still lot less clear. One “official” fungible token by creators or lots of @zora style NFT memorabilia by the community? I also think it’s dangerous to believe there will be a strong correlation to ad-like revenue. Probably more parallel to that and much more volatile. Nevertheless it’s one of the most promising developments for curation, tastemakers and upcoming creators.

This is probably the most existential struggle of crypto value. I think there are a couple of scenarios: - The current thing ends up winning - Relevant provenance is a source for constant new things. A reinforcing cycle. - Long term provenance has a smaller relative ceiling but also much higher floor and less risk.

Everyone is euphoric when they are making money. It’s not like FC and decentralized social depend on Degen or similar tokens though. I think of Degen more of a proof of concept of the power of the FC community. The distribution mechanic was interesting for that. Up to the team to show they can take it further.
