Thanks @tim for the update. Genuine question: why there isn’t any focus on apps? On actual utility of the Ethereum protocol?

They already have them on L2s: cheap, almost instant txs.

Ok improving the stack, but it’s time to start focusing on the real use cases to get adoption.
And there’s plenty to explore (DeFi, DePIN, AI, …) - which is where other ecosystems are ahead of in terms of experimentation and adoption, and ultimately the thing that will matter the most.

What kind of additional app focus would you like to see

Absolutely, but staking for the sake of staking doesn’t lead anywhere.

It’s you need to make an impact for real people (and secure it with staking ecc). 
But the second is worthless without the first.

institutional grade decentralised staking is kind of a big deal and trumps Bitcoin jfc
