In a recession, traditional assets like stocks and bonds often face high volatility. Bitcoin’s performance in such times depends on investor perception—whether it’s seen as digital gold or a risky asset. If seen as a hedge against economic instability, BTC may outperform equities. However, in past recessions, BTC has initially dropped with broader markets, then recovered strongly. If a global slowdown occurs in 2025, BTC could first dip but later attract safe-haven demand, especially if fiat currencies weaken. Long term, BTC’s fixed supply and growing adoption give it an edge. We forecast a rebound to $70,000 within 9–12 months post-recession.
