re: 2, I think influencer culture and youtube stars like mr beast have created unrealistic expectations for content creators. the reality is that only the top 1% or less earn any meaningful amount of money, in part because it’s a full-time job to produce content at scale.
imo our best hope is to change this 1% to something like 10%, with less valuing accruing to the platform and more to creators. power law will always apply though.
even though we can absolutely *all* be creators and make stuff, I don’t think the average user is really “owed” being a popular creator, much less making thousands per month. most people’s lives are not exceptionally interesting, same for their views on {topic} or their ability to do {skill}.
