Lately, I've been more active on Bluesky (different topic, different anon), and it's growing pretty fast. Given Elon has oriented Twitter towards anti-intellectualism, certain communities have moved wholesale already, particularly academia related. It's basically just Twitter without the bloat, but slower still... Farcaster is more interesting to me, but Bluesky has won the attention game - no one knows Farcaster exists outside the niche crypto crowd.

bluesky is just a different in/out group, same anti-intellectualism and partisan politics just in the opposite direction

I was so repulsed by how widespread the celebration of that guy being murdered was on Bluesky that I deleted my account

yes! diversity of opinion is a good thing. it’s crazy to me that anyone would suggest that bluesky > twitter for intellectual discussion when there’s basically forbidden topics there, like crypto for example.

I’m convinced this is one of the saner, more open-minded, more middle-ground, less extremist ideology reinforcing places online.

There's a whole lot more happening on Bluesky than "partisan politics", otherwise I wouldn't have been active.

not 100% sure but it certainly has that reddit “forbidden topics” culture, certain subjects or points of view aren’t really welcome over there

not sure of anyone else he has called a literal Ethereum philosopher, so I think it's reasonable to say you have shaped Ehtereum's culture

and I'm using maxi in the tongue-in-cheek crypto sense, not literally

Firstly, I don't own any ETH, not sure what "ETH culture" is 

Secondly, I literally said in the cast I'm more interested in Farcaster than Bluesky

polynya being Bluesky maxi says a lot about ETH culture

Bluesky is sort of fine now but also I haven’t found enough of my own kind of humor there.

Could be a timing / skill issue. It’s definitely technically and socially the superior platform atm.

But I don’t think that’ll necessarily hold over 5 years. Not enough innovation of purpose and use.

I did my time trying out Mastodon/Fediverse stuff. I determined the juice ain't worth the squeeze.
