it's certainly interesting but it's an announcement with no substance, which especially for hardware stuff scares me

the story of boomers in america is best told by joe biden - born in 1942 - one of the youngest senators ever (30 yrs old) - stays in power for decades while contributing very little - oldest president ever - immediately irrelevant and disliked - age catches up to him (cancer and memory loss)

"When we were young, we didn’t want to be ‘The Man.’ It wasn’t cool to be The Man. Our generation [baby boomers] grew up not wanting to be the adult. Now college administrators refuse to be the adult because they remember when they were in college and were demonstrating against their college administrators, and they don’t want to be like them.” "Older people are now reluctant to say that they have accrued some knowledge and have some wisdom to impart. Yet young people have a massive hunger for this wisdom. Part of the reason they behave so erratically, I think, is to test where the line is, and to see what knowledge older people can share to steady their anxieties." https://www.robkhenderson.com/p/older-generations-continue-to-surrender

pedro pascal is concerning to me. he is in too many movies, too with the times for a 50 year old man. he should be out of touch

yeah i think it's generally in the right direction, but i think trying too hard to be "ai-native" without really knowing what that is yet imo google seems ai-focused enough that they can put this in chrome pretty easily

actually down to set up a structured bet, not sure what metric we'd measure though I think they don't reach the hype with Dia that Arc had. Maybe slightly more users. I don't think they grow into their valuation of $550M via exit or new raise (maybe in this case marginally above to save face)
