This is what happens when devs build a product with zero understanding of marketing
Every dev gets at least one chance in lifetime to create something that could start a global trend. Ironically, it’s usually the ones who treat their product as an experiment, not a pre-planned “success story” who end up making history.
CryptoPunks started as a random experiment with no roadmap, yet became one of the most iconic and valuable collections in the space.
Its secret? A limited supply of just 10,000 tokens, which preserved and multiplied its value over time.
The Warplets could’ve been a similar success - a trendsetter for AI-generated NFTs with a fixed supply, where there are no “cheap” or “premium” traits, and each NFT is truly 1 of 1. It had all the right ingredients: the Base network, the Farcaster hype, and a unique mascot that defined its visual identity.
Now it’s nothing more than an OAT people will forget about in a week.
The value of any collectible in any market comes from scarcity and rarity.
That’s what separates true NFTs from mere commemorative tokens.
