That’s the question, obviously. I kind of like it, too, but you have to prep the model for the feeling you want. Add a wireframe modifier if you want all the edges of faces drawn.

Playing with Blender SVG rendering. It’s pretty good but doesn’t handle intersecting edges, they just disappear.

It uses Blender’s SVG export function, which handles hidden surface removal. I haven’t used it myself, but it looks like it gives a very clean result even on a complex model.
