Samsung reports 10x profit growth amid AI boom A year ago, in the first quarter of 2023, Samsung's profit was less than $500 million, in January-March of this year it approached $5 billion. The reason is the growth in sales of microchips and an increase in prices for them against the backdrop of the boom in artificial intelligence. Compared to the same period last year (January-March), Samsung's profit increased more than 10 times: then it amounted to 640 billion won ($465 million). The revenue generated in the past quarter was the highest operating profit since the third quarter of 2022 for the company.
