SlowMist has warned about a new phishing scheme posing as a “2FA verification” process aimed at MetaMask users.
In the scam, attackers imitate a MetaMask security alert page to draw victims into a fake two factor authentication flow designed to steal wallet recovery phrases.
The setup usually features a fabricated security warning, a counterfeit 2FA verification screen with a countdown timer, and eventually prompts users to enter their seed phrase.
