This situation places owners like myself in an unacceptable position: I either drive a vehicle that is not fully safe or absorb the personal financial burden of securing alternative transportation—neither of which is a fair expectation of a customer who acted in good faith.
I think it's reasonable to demand the following:
1_ A clear timeline for when the necessary repair or replacement parts will become available.
2_ Immediate access to a safe and comparable loaner or rental vehicle until the recall is fully resolved. ( I am a mother driving kids around).
