Abu Dhabi’s MGX has announced a $2 billion investment in Binance, marking one of the largest deals in the digital asset industry and the first institutional investment in the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange. This minority stake, to be funded through stablecoins, aligns with Abu Dhabi’s goal to position itself as a cryptocurrency hub and follows previous partnerships to further AI initiatives. Binance, processing about $20 billion in daily transactions, has a considerable presence in the UAE, employing around 1,000 people and possessing a local operating license.

Despite being around since 2017, Coinbase took the time to add this improvement to its platform that is powered by Lightspark, a Lightning Network company founded by David Marcus.
