I have a new piece in Fortune explaining crypto as a form of intergenerational revenge: https://fortune.com/crypto/2024/02/09/driving-current-crypto-boom-intergenerational-revenge/
I fully agree, and some of the biggest fails in our industry (like algorithmic stablecoins) could have been avoided with more historical awareness. Ironically, the things I highlight in my piece are ones even older people agree are bad (like high tuition) but refuse to fix.
I’ve co-authored a new piece with @kydo and @bmpalatiello on one of the lesser discussed benefits of restaking: faster ossification for Ethereum. Feedback or pushback appreciated! https://mirror.xyz/omid.eth/r4SFrPGzMEzwyhe3-0QIXzyNLPNUD_jmACi62SZCXlw
I’ve been thinking about tokenomics lately and what not to do. For example, L1 chains raise a ton of money, do a massive pre-mine with only short lockups, then let locked tokens be staked. This ensures that token distribution remains concentrated. https://twitter.com/malekanoms/status/1756426541603377263
