I caught this big healthy redfish last weekend while flounder fishing out of Charleston, SC. Talk about bycatch This is why I love fishing, you never know what's going to bite next!

Sight fishing and trout setting striper: these are a few of my favorite things! Chunky guy caught on the Marsh MX 8wt from LowCo Rods and a sand eel fly from a local shop up in Maine. Missing this clear cold water right about now!

Here's a fun clip of me hooking, catching, and releasing a nice cobia down in Beaufort, SC. Such a great fight from the kayak!

Tonight's the night! First full pint of cherry tomatoes going into a sauce. "Sungold Tomato Pasta" from Meredith Hayden. Will update later with the end result.

Spotted a dolphin "strand feeding" in the marsh this morning! Not what you want to see in the creek you're fishing, but always a cool sight. Look at those big mullet trying to dive out of the way!

One of our favorite recipes these days: coconut curry with rice noodles served with crispy redfish (or insert other white meat fish here).

Does anybody else's dog enjoy sunbathing when it's 90⁰+ outside? Or is Tater Tot just weird? She waits at the door for us to let her out when it gets this hot.

Catching a cobia from the kayak has been a goal of mine for a very long time. "Lost for words" would be an understatement for how I felt when I finally got this fish in the net! Such an unforgettable day.

Ok my gardening experts, what kinds of bugs do we have here? And are they the friendly variety, or do I need to excommunicate these bad boys immediately?

A couple of nice cobia from a recent trip down to Beaufort! I landed 5 that morning and I'll tell you what, you'll be hard-pressed to have more fun in a kayak. I was grinning ear-to-ear all day!

I went down and fished Beaufort for the first time to target Cobia and I was not disappointed. My buddy Houston showed me the ropes and we had a great day out there and caught a whole bunch of fish! Cobia are mainly caught offshore, so the chance to target them in a river is a once-a-year opportunity!

One of my favorite things to do is try new recipes with the fish I catch, and this pan roasted trout with brown butter potatoes and kale really delivered! Shockingly, kale gets a whole lot better when you cook it in butter. Who knew?? The skin on the bottom of the fish was so nice and crispy.

It doesn't get much better than this. Pulling into the harbor at 6 AM on a calm morning, ready to catch some fish with your buddies. This is why l keep coming back for more!
