Do Quantum Computers Only Threaten Bitcoin?
No, and thinking so is a major misconception. Framing quantum computing as a "Bitcoin-only threat" is misleading; it is actually a global digital security risk.
The cryptography Bitcoin uses (like ECDSA) is the same foundation securing banks, credit card networks, government systems, and the entire internet (HTTPS). If quantum computers could break Bitcoin today, they would also collapse the global financial system and national security infrastructures.
Two key facts to remember:
Current Gap: Today’s quantum computers are decades away from having the power to crack Bitcoin’s encryption.
Adaptability: Bitcoin is open-source. It can (and will) migrate to Post-Quantum Cryptography long before a real threat emerges.
Bottom line: If quantum computing becomes a threat, it won’t be a "crypto problem" it will be a global crisis. Bitcoin is just as ready, if not readier, to adapt than traditional systems.
