After all that’s been said about this whole Base update, this is just my small opinion.
Focusing on trading first makes sense. Trading brings movement, liquidity, and real activity. A lot of people clearly want better assets and a clearer trading experience, and this shift feels like Base leaning into that.
At the same time, there’s a risk in going too far in one direction. What made Base feel different was that it wasn’t only about money. People could post, share, and support each other without everything needing to turn into a trade.
Not everyone using the app is a trader. Some people create, some build, some explore. If the app becomes only charts, feeds, and rankings, it can start to feel cold, even if it’s efficient. People want to feel comfortable being there.
Trading as the foundation is fine. Keeping the human side alongside it is what will decide whether Base feels like just another app or something people actually stick with.
Remember your slogan “BASE IS FOR EVERYONE”
