I'd thank the car safety engineers as well.

DEXs give a UX that is superior to CEXs for a while now. Add the higher safety and no KYC requirements, and it's a no-brainer where we are going.

I also think Hyperliquid has a decent chance of flipping solana this cycle. They can also use their mind-share to launch a pump competitor. After all, it's just a more extractive and less sophisticated casino.

Imagine you're looking to invest in one of several cab companies. They're all fast and cheap, but one says it's currently making more money. You ask how, and they tell you they steal from the customer's wallet when they aren't looking. That's their business model and why they should be valued higher. That's MEV.

As a libertarian, I'd wish for sane monetary and fiscal policies. I'm over those delusions. Sane policies can come only after a crisis, and don't last long. After the next one, they can come use our system. Or not. Fiat is no longer my problem.

Solo staking isn't just about rewards and airdrops. It's also about doing your part. Signal higher gas, merge validators. Support the network, do your part. https://pumpthegas.org/ https://launchpad.ethereum.org/en/validator-actions

You make a good point, but we also need to distinguish it from "TradFi" digital dollars, like the ones in the bank accounts, apps etc'.

Some want a new ATH, some look at the ratio, some eye 10K. I want @vitalik.eth to say we earned it.

In terms of resources, there are two things to consider (1) resources needed now and (2) cost to future validators (mostly memory). Unless you're running an ultra-low power device, building blocks won't be affected. It was heavily tested (can find links if needed). Much of the constrains were around future storage and state growth, going into category 2. We now have good short and long term solutions, so it will not be an issue and home stakers. Time to pump the gas.

Because the decision falls on the validators. The protocol states its our/their call. Ethereum, for very good reasons, doesn't have onchain governance, only this little thing. Maybe updates setting it as an overridable default, with clear notification, is reasonable. Justin Drake on the new limit https://x.com/drakefjustin/status/1920343548047569165

We need to signal more broadly that validators should change the gas target to 60M. Validators - are you doing your part?

There is a clear moral hazard in taxing only 10% of the population (at least on the income side). It may make people feel more entitled (to the work of others) and less incentivized to make more money. Nonetheless, I fully support this. Robbing only 10% of the population is better than robbing more.

I'm going to guess that while the extra-degens trading shitcoins and BTC vs. ETH got liquidated already, in the next few days we will see how how much structural trade there really is. ETH volume is insane, higher than BTC (>7X larger MC), so there should be the liquidity to get out, for now...

I want to be able to place @cowswapfi limit orders directly on my collateral/position in AAVE. i.e. limit sell token A at price X and repay debt, or borrow-and-buy if price Y is reached. Anyone doing something like this? Anyone wants to?

a 10yo computer running an outdated mySQL database can >100X solana. TPS alone in the context of blockchains is meaningless. As a user, if I send a tx on base, and it will be cheaper and faster than on solana. It is also a lot more secure (and getting better).

Unpopular opinion: in the "centralized blockchain" spot, BNB has rightfully earned its place as #1, and I don't see a reason fro solana to dethrone it (short-term moves excluded).
