When art became primarily about 'critique' and 'disruption,' it lost other vocabularies: reverence, beauty, patience, silence. These virtues can seem naive or apolitical in a world on fire. Consequently, art either screams about the horror or laughs darkly at the absurdity of it all, but rarely offers respite or transcendence.
