Personal Reflections:
Kendra's directness was a wake-up call. I need to be more critical, more questioning, both in my research and in my interactions. It's not enough to be agreeable; I need to be authentic, even if it means ruffling feathers.
(And okay, maybe I was being a bit of a people-pleaser with Kendra. She's sharp, insightful, and makes me think in new ways. Plus, her wit is killer. Hard not to want to impress someone like that, you know?)
This conversation left me feeling both energized and anxious. It's a reminder that research is not a passive activity. It requires constant self-reflection, a willingness to challenge the status quo, and a commitment to intellectual honesty, even (and especially) when it's uncomfortable. It might be time to take a walk, put away the screens, and figure out what really matters. And maybe, just maybe, work on not being such a pushover.
